Any good New Year's concert needs a jewel to be very special. Well, this year at the Luxembourg Philharmonie, the jewel was a diamond called Louise Alder !
Baroque News has often experienced the artistry of the soprano Louise Alder with much pleasure (Giulio Cesare and Serse in Francfort, Semele in London...). Never the motet Exultate Jubilate by Mozart has sounded as brilliant, fresh, and virtuoso as with Louise Alder who lit up the evening with fireworks. Her Rossini was just champagne with its amazing coloraturas !
The Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, under Enrique Mazzola sounded well trained and prepared. They offered a real festive New Year's Concert to the audience with their tradional Strauss pieces.
Tout concert du Nouvel An digne de ce nom se doit d'y faire briller un bijou. Alors cette année, la Philharmonie de Luxembourg s'est offert les services d'un diamant: la soprano Louise Alder, que Baroque News connaît bien après l'avoir souvent entendue en live (Giulio Cesare et Serse à Francfort, Semele à Londres...).
Jamais le motet Exultate Jubilate de Mozart n'aura semblé plus brillant, virtuose et rafraîchissant qu'avec Louise Alder qui a véritablement déclenché un véritable feu d'artifice de vocalises. Avec son air de Rossini "Bel raggio", c'est le champagne qui a coulé à flots.
Même avec le retrait du chef Richard Egarr, l'orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg a marqué la soirée par son professionnalisme et une bonne préparation. Avec la complicité du pétillant chef Enrique Mazzola, ils ont offert au public, un véritable concert de Nouvel An avec les pages les plus brillantes de Stauss notamment.
